Erin O’Connell practices primarily in the area of Community Association Law and represents hundreds of homeowner, townhome and condominium associations and mixed-use developments within the Atlanta Metropolitan Area and across Georgia.  She assists community associations by interpreting covenants, drafting amendments, resolutions, and other governing documents, reviewing contracts, collecting unpaid association assessments, litigating association related matters, providing guidance, and attending meetings of the association members and the Board.  Erin’s clients appreciate her prompt and practical advice.  Erin is an active member of the Georgia Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (“CAI”) and serves on its Board of Directors. She will hold the office of Treasurer for CAI in 2026.

In the Community 

Erin lives a mile from the office in the great City of Decatur with her husband and two kids.  Erin and her husband, Andrew O’Connell, are both proud “Double Dawgs” of the University of Georgia and enjoy attending Georgia football games in Athens and on family road trips.  Her favorite athletes: however, are her son and daughter that she thoroughly enjoys cheering on from the sidelines in various sporting events. 

Industry Experience

Erin has practiced Community Association Law for over 15 years.  Prior to practicing Community Association Law, Erin worked in the insurance industry and was a registered neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.  Her unique prior experience allows her to provide practical and valuable advice to Boards and Community Associations regarding insurance related matters and dispute resolution. Erin has taught numerous educational classes to property managers and real estate professionals and is proud to have served as the committee chair for the inaugural CAI – Georgia Education Seminar in 2016-2017.  She proudly served on the CAI education seminar committee for 8 years and is now enjoying the experience, invaluable relationships and education that comes with her role as a director on the CAI-Georgia Board of Directors.
